Dr. Balázs Sipka was born and raised in Szeged, where he also completed his medical studies. Coming from a family of doctors, the white coat and the healing profession have been a natural part of his life since childhood.

Before and during medical school, he worked as a paramedic, which allowed him to meet “real” patients early on—beyond what the textbooks could teach. During this time, he learned the importance of clear communication and explaining medical information in an understandable way, as he often translated discharge summaries into “plain Hungarian” for patients he transported home.

This experience has shaped his approach ever since: it is his firm belief that no patient should leave his practice with unanswered questions. He considers it essential that everyone fully understands what is needed for their recovery.

“Patients don’t come for an appointment—they come for solutions and explanations,” he says.

His interest in surgery began early; his thesis focused on catheter-based varicose vein procedures. During his residency, alongside performing traditional varicose vein surgeries, he carried out numerous catheter-based interventions. After obtaining his surgical board certification, he joined private healthcare, where—at VeinStream Clinic—he performs several hundred varicose vein surgeries annually and manages thousands of doctor–patient consultations, gaining extensive nationwide experience.

Dr. Sipka regularly participates in professional trainings and delivers lectures in his field. He continuously refines his skills by learning the latest techniques from leading international experts. Patient education is particularly important to him: in line with modern expectations, he contributes to numerous informative articles and videos aimed at the general public. As the vein specialist of VeinStream Clinic, he is part of the team that has built one of Hungary’s highest-rated vein clinics based on patient feedback. He brings this expertise and experience to his work at the Parliament Medical Center.
