Dr. Ágnes Szappanos obtained her medical degree from Semmelweis University’s Faculty of Medicine in 2005. After graduating, she was a full-time doctoral student at the Semmelweis University Doctoral School until 2008, during which time she was admitted to the Kerpel-Fronius Ödön Talent Development Program. She earned her PhD in 2011. Following her rheumatology residency, she worked from 2012 as a specialist and from 2019 as an assistant professor at the National Institute of Rheumatology and Physiotherapy, where she focused primarily on the care of patients with systemic autoimmune and polyarticular inflammatory rheumatological conditions. In addition to her PhD, she holds board certifications in rheumatology and clinical immunology. Since 2021, she has been working as an immunology specialist at the Városmajor Heart and Vascular Center of Semmelweis University. Throughout her research career, she has received multiple awards, presented at numerous national and international conferences, and is listed as a first and co-author of several Hungarian and international scientific publications.
