“No two people in the world are the same; that is why listening to the patient’s complaints and wishes is essential.”
Dr. Zoltán Salló is a cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at the Városmajor Heart and Vascular Center of Semmelweis University. He grew up in a family of physicians and combines a high level of professional expertise with personal attention in his work. He began his scientific work as a medical student under the supervision of Professor László Gellér at the Városmajor Clinic, where the catheter-based treatment of cardiac arrhythmias became his main field of interest.
He performs a large number of catheter ablations, ranging from simpler arrhythmias to complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, and also has substantial experience in left atrial appendage closure procedures. He was among the first in Hungary to use several new devices and techniques, and has played an active role in introducing new technologies in the country. Part of his everyday practice is ablation performed without X-ray radiation, using an intracardiac ultrasound catheter, which supports the precise execution of procedures with modern imaging.
In 2019 he obtained the European (EHRA) electrophysiology licence, in 2020 he passed the cardiology specialty examination with an excellent result, and in 2026 he was awarded a PhD degree. He also passes on his experience as an educator: he trains medical students and specialists, and assists Hungarian and international colleagues during procedures in mastering modern catheter-based techniques. He is actively involved in clinical research and international scientific collaborations.
In his private practice he welcomes patients with arrhythmias, hypertension and other cardiological complaints, as well as for preventive screening examinations. It is important to him that those who turn to him can talk about their symptoms at ease, understand their findings and treatment options, and receive care tailored to their individual needs.
