I am Dr. Zsófia Szakál-Tóth, a specialist in cardiology. I obtained my medical degree from Semmelweis University and specialized in cardiology and heart transplantation at the Városmajor Heart and Vascular Center. My PhD research focuses on how the general condition and organ system reserves of patients awaiting heart transplantation affect the success of the surgery and their long-term recovery.
My scientific work is reflected in numerous international publications and conference presentations, including within the European Society of Cardiology and Eurotransplant. My research areas include factors influencing the long-term success of heart transplantation, perioperative and postoperative support of cardiac patients with specialized circulatory assist devices, and determinants of long-term survival in patients who have undergone resuscitation.
For my clinical contributions, I have received multiple awards, including “Resident of the Year” and the “Hero of Semmelweis” award from Semmelweis University. I am committed to applying the latest medical knowledge and providing personalized care to my patients.
