Private Angiology Clinic in Budapest!

Angiology is the field of internal medicine that deals with blood vessels. It covers diseases and disorders of the arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels.
At our clinic, we primarily focus on circulatory diseases affecting the limbs.
Among arterial diseases, the most common condition is arterial stenosis (narrowing of the arteries), which may be a direct consequence of atherosclerosis, but can also be associated with other conditions such as diabetes, elevated blood lipid and cholesterol levels, immunological diseases, high blood pressure, and complications related to coronary artery disease.
Venous diseases – including varicose veins, venous insufficiency, and post-thrombotic conditions – affect a large number of people. More than half of the adult population show mild or severe venous abnormalities.
In many cases, determining the cause of ankle or leg swelling (edema) can be challenging. Most commonly, venous or lymphatic circulation disorders are responsible, and distinguishing between them is extremely important because they require different treatments. Even more importantly, swelling must be differentiated from edema caused by other medical conditions, such as heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, or orthopedic disorders.

For preventive purposes, it is recommended to consult an angiologist specialist in the following cases:

  • Known vascular disease or family history of vascular disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Smoking
  • Heart disease
  • Previous heart attack or stroke
  • Carotid artery stenosis

What happens during an angiological examination?

The examination requires no special preparation and is completely painless. Our specialist reviews the patient’s previous medical records to rule out other conditions associated with vascular diseases. During the examination, both physical and instrumental assessments of the veins and arteries are performed.
CDS ultrasound examinations are performed separately by sonographers.

What conditions are treated at our angiology clinic?

Diseases of the arteries:
  • Peripheral (limb) arterial stenosis
  • Raynaud’s syndrome
Please note that capillaroscopic examinations are not available at our institution.
