I began my medical studies in Szeged and obtained my degree in Budapest at Semmelweis University in 1998.
From early in my career, I considered it important to gain as much practical experience as possible, which is why I worked as a paramedic for two years alongside my studies. After graduating, I began working in surgery at the Buda MÁV Hospital, primarily assisting with thoracic and vascular surgical procedures.
During my time as a ward physician, I increasingly felt the importance of communication with patients, and a professional change matured within me: in 2000, I took up a position in the cardiology department of the National Korányi Institute of Tuberculosis and Pulmonology. There, alongside routine cardiology care, I worked with colleagues on the pre-transplant assessment, follow-up, and post-operative care of patients with heart failure awaiting cardiac transplantation.
In 2005, I was offered a further opportunity for professional advancement at the cardiology department of the Buda Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy, where — in addition to electrophysiology — I was involved in the introduction of pacemaker therapy, which was launched that same year. Since 2021, I have held the position of Head of the Hospital Laboratory, and in the course of my daily work I also carry out the assessment and treatment of general cardiological conditions (coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular disease).
My primary focus is patient care and effective, honest communication with patients. I believe it is essential that — based on the available options and circumstances, and following thorough information — the best individualised treatment strategy is always selected together with the patient, while remaining aware of the limits of human capacity and capability.
